— About KitchenTact
KitchenTact helps make everyday cooking
more practical, more confident, and less overwhelming.
Real food. Real kitchens. Recipes that actually work on a Tuesday night — and guides that earn their place on your counter.

KitchenTact is edited by K.T. Tavelle. The burnt oven mitt was from a brussels sprout incident in December 2025 that we’d rather not discuss.
— The Story
Cooking Should Feel Like You Again
A few years ago my kitchen was full of things I barely used. Appliances on the counter, cookbooks on the shelf, good intentions — and still, takeout three nights a week. Not because I didn’t want to cook. Because cooking felt like it required more time, more effort, and more confidence than I actually had on a Tuesday night.
What changed wasn’t a single product. It was finding the right tools for the way I actually live — and learning how to use them properly. The difference between a kitchen that works for you and one that works against you is usually smaller than you think. It’s a temperature setting. A technique. Knowing which piece of equipment is genuinely worth the counter space.
KitchenTact started as notes I kept sending to friends — which tools were worth it, which weren’t, what actually worked on a weeknight. It grew into this. Recipes are tested in a real kitchen before publishing, and buying guides are built from hands-on use where available, product research, specification checks, owner feedback, and clear selection criteria.
If it doesn’t make cooking easier, more satisfying, or more repeatable, it doesn’t belong on your counter — and it won’t end up on this site.

— Our Standard
Built in a real kitchen. Honest about everything else.
Every recipe on this site is tested before it goes live. Buying guides combine hands-on use where available, specification checks, owner feedback, product research, and clear selection criteria. That standard doesn’t change as the site grows.
Some pages contain affiliate links. If you buy through one, we earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. It’s disclosed wherever it applies — and it never changes what we recommend. If something isn’t worth it, we won’t say it is.
If you want to suggest a recipe, flag an error, or just say something cooked well — the contact page is always open.

A few things people ask me a lot
Do you test every recipe yourself?
Every recipe is cooked and verified in a KitchenTact kitchen before publishing. If a contributor helps, it’s still tested and edited to the same checklist.
What air fryer do you actually use?
We keep a daily-driver air fryer and rotate other models in for review testing. We update our picks when better options appear — you’ll always find our current recommendations on the Best Picks page.
How can I contact you?
We read every message. For partnerships, we only consider clearly labelled sponsorships that do not influence rankings or recommendations.
