Air Fryer Breading Falling Off? Why Coating Slides Off and How to Fix It
Breading that looks perfect going in can end up as a pile of crumbs at the bottom of the basket. This guide explains why it happens in an air fryer specifically and what to change before you bread your next piece.
Why Breading Behaves Differently in an Air Fryer
Deep frying bonds a coating almost instantly — the food hits oil and the outside sets before anything can slide. An air fryer works completely differently. A high-speed fan circulates hot air at close range, and that airflow is strong enough to physically dislodge loose crumbs before they have a chance to crisp onto the food. Moisture makes things worse.
