⚠️ Before You Put Glass in the Air Fryer

  • Use a glass dish only when both your air fryer manual and the dish manufacturer permit it — an oven-safe mark alone is not enough.
  • Do not assume the Pyrex name settles it: US Pyrex prohibits air fryers, while some Pyrex UK dishes are sold air-fryer compatible. Check your exact product and region.
  • Never use non-oven glass (mason jars, drinking glasses, decorative or “microwave-safe” storage), or any glass that is chipped, cracked, deeply scratched or impact-damaged.
  • Avoid sudden temperature changes unless that exact dish permits them, and rest hot glass on a dry board, trivet or potholder.
  • Treat the maximum cooking temperature and the thermal-shock rating as separate specifications: stay within the stated cooking limit, follow the dish maker’s permitted temperature-transition instructions, and keep within your air fryer’s own limit.

Can you put glass in an air fryer?

Only when both your air fryer’s manual and the glassware maker permit it — an oven-safe mark alone isn’t enough. Some appliances allow it: Philips, for example, permits any ovenproof glass, ceramic, metal or silicone dish. Others, and some glassware, do not. Check both sets of instructions and follow the more restrictive one.

Can you put Pyrex in an air fryer?

It depends on the exact product and region. Current US Pyrex says not to use its glassware in an air fryer or other countertop appliances. Some Pyrex UK borosilicate dishes, by contrast, are sold as air-fryer compatible when correctly sized. Check the guidance for your specific dish rather than assuming the Pyrex name settles it.

Does an oven-safe or microwave-safe label mean glass is air-fryer safe?
